An Independent Dental Hygiene Clinic is a clinic run solely by Dental Hygienists. Registered Dental Hygienists have been practicing independently in Alberta since 2006.
Do I still need to see a Dentist?
No, you do not need to see a dentist to have your checkup and X-rays.
What happens if I have a cavity?
We will schedule you with our dentist in the office at the next available appointment time that works with your schedule. If, during your hygiene visit, we detect an urgent need to see a dentist we can offer a referral to our community dentist if our dentist is not on site.

Like Dentists, our pricing is set by the Alberta Dental Fee Guide. We offer direct billing to your dental insurance provider.

When Elyse isn't at the clinic, you can find her and her partner, Eric, out enjoying the trails on their mountain bikes. Their biking journey began in 2018 with fixed-gear bikes as they explored Calgary & local breweries. Today, they share a deep passion for mountain biking, actively participating in community events and races. Winter doesn't hold them back either; they embrace fat biking season, which adds excitement to the long winter months!
Book NowThey share their home with two senior rescue black lab mixes, Yam and Silvia. Silvia comes outside briefly to smell the roses, while Yam eagerly leads Elyse on their morning walks. The dogs love accompanying them on weekend bike adventures in their camper truck, built specifically for their senior citizen needs.

Elyse was born and raised in Calgary, and from the age of 12, she knew she wanted to be a dental hygienist. She completed her Dental Hygiene Diploma in Hamilton, Ontario, in 2009, then spent a year in Hay River, Northwest Territories, to enhance her skills and knowledge. For the past 14 years, Elyse has worked in Calgary and the surrounding area before deciding to open her own independent dental hygiene clinic in 2024. She now divides her time between her clinic and the Foothills Medical Centre Dental Clinic, where she focuses on treating medically complex patients, those with special needs, and individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Elyse is passionate about dental hygiene and dedicated to providing optimal preventive oral and overall health care, tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.
